This course, designed for those who are curious to know what LIDAR is and why it is useful for management decisions, provides quick and flexible access to several topics needed to understand the LIDAR landscape. The course includes engaging videos and audios, optional knowledge tests, a final questionnaire with certificate, and assistance services for people with disabilities. Can the case be made for a certification program for LiDAR professionals? Engineers, surveyors and architects, as well as many other professions, have a system to certify the abilities of members of their profession. I often hear that one of the factors affecting the growth of the 3D laser scanning business is the shortage of trained professionals.
As I have said in the past, educational institutions, in general, do not seem to be taking a step forward.
